Getting New Pages Indexed Fast

Depending on the page rank of your site, Google indexes your newly posted pages at certain rates. In general, a site with lower than PR5 will have its new pages indexed in between one and two weeks. Often times it can be extremely important to have new pages indexed as quickly as possible. Here are some simple ways to do this.
1. Latest Articles Widget: Simply add an HTML block or widget to the overall layout of your site; set it up so that it will be displayed on every page. Set this widget to automatically list the newest 5 or 10 pages that have been posted on your site. Google’s crawlers will quickly find this link when they pass through your higher ranking main page and other articles that have been indexed. In general, on a PR3 website, using this approach will cut a week off the indexing time for newly posted pages.
2. XML Sitemap Feed: Download a copy of Google Webmaster Tools. You can use this program to create an XML Sitemap feed, which can then be submitted to Google. This guarantees that Google will index your pages in the event that there are no direct links available from other parts of your site or from other sites. This XML feed also increase the speed at which your new pages are indexed.
3. Do-Follow Microblogging: Certain micro-blogger sites allow you to post do-follow links in your updates. While twitter and many of the more popular sites do not allow this, there are still opportunities available. Micro-blogger sites sometimes even have the feature of streaming their latest posts on the front page. Do-Follow microblog links can get your newest content pages listed in less than 15 pages if you find the right site.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Review

There have been many advances recently in the world of first-person shooter video games. However, there have been few times where a shooter with so few tangible gameplay advances has made such a big splash in this field of games as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.
First let me say that the graphics in Modern Warfare 2 are some of the best that are available on the market today. With its wonderful use of colors and locations, the art style matches beautifully with the general concept of the game. You should also know that the sound of this game is truly excellent, with the explosions really bringing you into the action and the gunfire feeling vivid and distinct as you enter a world of true chaos upon the battlefield.
Much more important than the graphics and sound however is the gameplay itself. The first Modern Warfare game was generally considered to be an extremely well-balanced and challenging game. You can say no less about its sequel. Modern warfare to have some of the absolute best first-person shooter gameplay ever to grace the multiplayer scene. Add to this a well-designed and rewarding system of unlocked achievements and titles and you have a truly addictive game. The only thing I can say against modern warfare to is the fact that its single player campaign, while truly epic and mind-blowing, is sadly very short. But you will barely notice this the moment you enter a team deathmatch on Xbox Live.

Google Chrome Review

Among all the top end web browsers available, Google Chrome holds its own among the big names in the industry. The two browsing titans have been clashing ever since Netscape bit the dust, and yet they are plagued by the same issues they had when they began. Internet Explorer has enough security holes to easily cause much more trouble than it is worth. Firefox is secure, sure, but is the sacrifice in speed worth it?
Chrome on the other hand has neither of these drawbacks. Speed and safety are highest on the list of Chrome’s best features. Add to this a slick, streamlined user interface and a good range of features, and you have quite the winning package. Google’s browser does have its limitations however. The most prominent of these is the crippling lack of any support for add-ons. This will most likely be addressed at some future time, at which time Chrome will likely come out far in the lead.

Among all of the cutting-edge laptops on the market today, they can often be hard to distinguish from one another in terms of quality and other features. For someone a little less familiar with the world of laptops, it is often quite difficult to keep track of what you want to see in your laptop. Let me just say up front that the laptop you want is the MacBook Pro.
The MacBook Pro is equipped with some of the most unique and innovative features available today. With its extremely sleek design and inviting interface, the MacBook is highly inviting even to the most inexperienced users. Combine this with its extended battery life compared with many other laptop models as well as its high capability for graphics output and you really have a winning combination. An extra bit of icing on the cake is the fact that the MacBook Pro is produced under outstandingly green conditions. Really the only reason not to get a MacBook Pro is the fact that they can be very expensive. But every dollar spent is worth it.

Page Ranking Scale

There is much deliberation and discussion as to the difference between for example a PR3 page rank and a PR4. While there is no information that has been given out directly from Google, SEO experts have been able to piece together clues towards exact values.
Essentially, page rank is measured on a logarithmic scale. The PR difference of 2 is much greater than a PR difference of 1, for example. From sample group studies, it has been tentatively confirmed that a page rank that is 1 higher translates into a difference of 6 times the inbound links. A PR5 is worth 6 times more than a PR4 and 36 times more than a PR3 in terms of PR value and backlinking weight. This means that ideally a link exchange will only occur between two sides of the same PR rank or between one page and six pages that are of a lower PR. Always keep careful track of this when performing a link exchange or you can very easily end up with unfair agreements and essentially getting cheated out of PR.

Traffic Boost: Site Design
January 3, 2010

One of the simplest ways to boost your site’s overall quality is to merely adjust the overall look of your site. Try your hand at different layouts and color schemes and find one that looks clean and trustworthy. Don’t overdo the volume of ads that appear on your site as this can very easily scare away interested parties. On the other hand, people do visually enjoy sidebars and top bars as a means for traversing the site and finding content. Adding these to even the simplest of sites can very quickly raise your overall look.
Avoid going with a black background with lighter colored text. This tactic, while it might seem trendy, is responsible for lost traffic on an uncountable number of sites. To a casual web surfer the black background seems psychologically disturbing. You should also avoid other darker colored backgrounds such as midnight blue and dark purple for the same reasons. Essentially they feel as though the site has an underground sort of theme and thus is more likely to contain spyware and other unwanted things. In addition to the psychological factor, it’s also much more difficult to read something on a page designed in this manner. A large percentage of potential followers for your site can easily be driven away simply because they cannot easily experience your site’s content.
Instead, go with a pure white background or perhaps a light gradient. Keep the design simple and elegant without anything too distracting in terms of layout. Avoid drop-down menus and flashing banner ads as these are frustrating to potential viewers. Choose a logo that both sends your message and looks good at the same time. The same goes for your slogan, if you choose to have one.

Link Exchange 101
December 28, 2009

A link exchange is a simple agreement between the webmasters of two websites to each post a link to the other’s site. Link exchanges are performed for the sake of increasing referral traffic in some cases, but usually their primary focus is to increase search engine page rank. Because one of the most important determining factors in search engine page rank is that of back links, link exchanges were developed.
Good places to find and carry out link exchanges are IT or SEO forums. In any advertisements or offers that you make on these forums, it is highly recommended that you include the page rank and theme of your site, but not the URL until a deal has at least been tentatively struck. Including these extra details can go a long way toward streamlining the link exchange process. You might also include the number of outbound links your site has.
Sometimes link exchanges specify blogroll or footer links. This simply means that the link must be displayed on every page of your site for the deal to be valid. This is for the purpose of squeezing out extra page rank value from the link and is generally more beneficial in these terms. Due to the significant difference between individual page ranks, usually link exchanges are only carried out between pages of equal rank. After link exchange has been completed, it’s always a good idea to subsequently check on the link periodically to ensure that it stays up.

The Basics: What is Page Rank?
November 18, 2009

Page rank is a value that determines the position your site takes in search engine results and thus has an extremely large affect on your site’s overall traffic. Page rank is determined by several factors. The most important factor is that of do-follow backlinks. A backlink is simply a link to your site from a separate site. Do-follow means that the link does not contain the no-follow script that prevents search engine crawlers from following the link and thus not indexing it officially as a link for the purposes of page rank.
While the number of back links is important, what is more important is the individual page rank of the sites that are providing back links to your site. For example, a back link from an extremely high-ranking sites such as Wikipedia will increase your page rank value by thousands or even millions of times as much as a link from a low-ranking blog site. In addition to the page rank of these sites, you must also factor in the number of outbound links (referred to as OBL) present on pages that link to yours. Generally you can divide the page rank boost that you will get from a link by the number of other links that appear on that page. A link from a site with 40 OBL will be worth about half the value of a link from a site with 20 OBL.

Quality over Quantity in SEO
October 25, 2009

The focus in today’s SEO marketplace is quality over all other considerations. Page volume, backlinks, and even traffic have all taken the backseat behind content quality. Newer sites are pushing older sites out of the loop based simply on their increased ability to fit in with what the public wants. It even reaches the level of quality required by a niche to be in its top five go-to sites listing, everything else comes with it. You will receive an endless supply of free organic links not to mention referral traffic. Content quality even boost the click-through rate of ads on your site. This is due to increased levels of trust in your clientele.
Get right to the source of your sites content. Get the latest news before anyone else does and post it immediately. The simple fact that you were first will give you a massive boost in traffic and a large number of organic links that are often left up permanently. Staying on top of your content focus will keep the majority of surfers in your niche hating your site before any others.
